earth day!

today was the fourth annual earth day and being ecologically friendly is very important to me. whenever i hear about people trying to deny global warming and our impact on the environment i get a roar of anger and annoyance. Do they really think our lifestyle, with all the factories and everything able consumerism, how we've changed the whole way the world works, has not affected the earth's condition? that everything is perfectly fine?

we are nothing without mother nature. it is the ground that holds us up, it is the material in which we have built everything we have out of, it is what has taken care of us and what we need to take care of now.

Every ton of recycled office paper saves 380 gallons of oil.

Americans use 50 million tons of paper annually -- consuming more than 850 million trees.

Americans use 50 million tons of paper annually -- consuming more than 850 million trees.

The cost of one nuclear weapons test alone could finance the installation of eighty thousand hand pumps, giving third world villages access to clean water.

For every one of the 6 billion people on earth, nearly four tons of carbon dioxide is spewed into the air annually.

World wide, rainforests are dissapearing at a rate of one and a half football fields per second. Each spring the forests beathe in oxygen and the earth breathes out again the following autumn, but like a heavy smokers lungs the earth is loosing its ability to breathe at all. Just a few centuries ago, earths equator was girdled by a green belt of 15 million sq. miles of rain forest, an area about 5-times that of contiguous US. Now the equiv. of 3 USA's worth of Forest are GONE! there is only 6.2 million sq. miles left

last last last wednesday i went to the paralympics curling event, it was so great ot see so much vancouver pride and so many people come out to support our athletes!

a lot of people were already there when we arrived and we were 20 minutes early.

honestly i didn't pay that much attention to the game (i really don't understand curling, your supposed to get the "stone" in the circle right? but in the first round everyone's stone was like a meter away from the circle...)
we did win in the end (wooot!) and thanks to vancouver's bipolar weather on the way back home, through the sun and rain, there was a rainbow!

i'm really starting to get this back together and i've realized how much better you feel when you do everything you need to do instead of the things you want to do.

i used to go by "if your not living in the moment your not living at all" but the truth is living in a moment can mean your not living in the next. enjoy the present but don't let it destroy the future. i don't want the future me to have regrets and wish that i had lived differently. if your life flashes before your eyes before you die i want to love what i see and be able to let go knowing i've lived a wholesome life, like the old cliché, i want to feel that i've lived life to the fullest.

i'm getting busy again >.< i really want to do well this term and change from my past laziness, i've lost so much because i didn't put an effort into it. but i'm taking a mini break before going back to working on the mock trial to help myself feel a little more open with the pictures i took of aberdeen center! ah the memories of holiday shopping and daiso. its been such a long time since i've been in richmond.

overall rating: 10/10!
so far this is my favourite sunscreen! it doesn't have typical "sunscreen smell" and smells pleasant. sunscreens with high spfs tend to have extremely thick and greasy formulas but this was as lightweight and absorbed as quickly as regular moisturizer. It didn't break me out and i haven't noticed any major problems with it. the packaging is fine, however the surface is reflective so i'd advise to keep it away from the sun if your bringing it to the beach as it would probably get hot very quickly but other then that the flip top is easy to open and getting out the right amount is quick and clean. it also didn't leave a white film on my skin and it does its job, i don't tan even when i'm swimming under the sun(:
