Nyx Round Lipsticks

These are my favourite lipsticks so far and they are cheap! The NYX location I got this from was at Surrey Central where they sell them for $4.99 each but you can get them online for as low was $2. Most drugstore/inexpensive lip colour brands have a very low range of colours that are mostly bright, vibrant red, pinks and purples but NYX has a huge selection of nude lipstick and wearable everyday colours. They all apply smoothly, are well pigmented and the packaging is sleek. Such a steal.

590 Honey - A great nude lipstick if you have pale skin. There are less pink/red tones than Circle so this shade can give you concealer lips. What I like to do is apply a very thin layer so some of natural lip colour peaks through and it ends up looking natural and pretty.

522 Circe  – My favourite of the bunch, no conceal lips. Slight pink tones that help it look more natural.

617 Summer Love – The most flattering nude-pink lipstick that I’ve found so far. (Keep in mind I haven’t tried that many) The thing is that this shade is kind of frosty so it still not very natural.

Stop Internet Censorship (PIPA & SOPA)

Don't let corporations take over the internet. 
PIPA (Protect IP Act) and SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) (although the want to) will not stop Piracy, instead they will introduce strict censorship that will violate our rights and could send you to prison for 5 years for uploading illegal content. 

Congress votes on them on Jan 24, 2012 

but it should be our voice that matters, not corrupt bureaucrats supporting the already wealthy entertainment industry.

Avatar is the highest grossing movie of all time. Avatar is the highest downloaded movie of all time. Still, Avatar made over $2 billion ($2,000,000,000) in profit. Hollywood is doing just fine.

Nyx Concealer in a Jar

After hearing lots of good reviews on this concealer, I finally bought one. My review is going to be very neutral, its just ok, not amazing. It’s better than Maybelline’s Dream Mousse concealer, not as good as Coastal Scents’ concealer pallet. Its best quality is that it’s very thin and smooth. .

Maybelline’s Dream mousse concealer was more grainy and took more blending. It was also soft and  could be thick and powdery. Coastal Scent’s concealer pallet gives tons of coverage but is quite thick. The problem with this Nyx one is that the coverage is low so time and product needed to build coverage and that would make it just as thick as Coastal Scent’s. The level of coverage it provides isn’t much better than a medium-high coverage foundation

The jar packaging is also unsanitary. Its too hard for a brush (unless you warm it up first) but using your fingers every time could just be building up bacteria. 

If you’re looking for a concealer for light imperfections, this is a good one to try. Otherwise, there are better ones out there in a similar price range.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, between 1979 and 2007, incomes of the top 1% of Americans have grown by an average of 275%, versus just 40% for the 60 percent of Americans who are in the middle of the income scale. The top 1% of the American population controls about 40% of the total wealth of the country, the top 20% of earners took in 80% of household income, and the top 10% controlled 73% of wealth. Since 1979, average pre-tax income for the bottom 90% of households decreased by $900, and that of the top 1% increased by over $700,000, as federal taxation became less progressive. While over the last 30 years, the top 1% has bore a larger percentage of the tax burden, up from 15% in 1979 to to 37% in the year 2009, the 400 taxpayers with the highest incomes saw their income increase by 392%. In 2010, of the 100 highest-paid chief executives in the U.S., 25 took home more pay than their company paid in federal corporate income taxes.
